Celebration time for Clogheen residents

Following recent reports of water outages on Main Street, Kildorrery, especially over the last two weekends, when a number of houses were either without water or had insufficient pressure, Minister Seán Sherlock has called for Kildorrery to be prioritised in the next round of funding on the Water Services Infrastructure fund.
“I have been in contact with Council officials about this matter and given the number of breakages; to my mind it would be appropriate that Kildorrery would be given prioritisation on any county council application to the Department for funding. It took some time for the reservoir to fill last weekend and it is clear that there are outstanding issues with breakages,” the Minister said.
In particular people on Main Street have been experiencing problems and reporting that they have had to replace electric showers and appliances.
“When the application is made by Cork County Council this summer, I will be asking the Department of the Environment to give it prioritisation,” Minister Sherlock told The Avondhu.
