This Friday sees Friars’ Gate Theatre host Tony Award and Pulitzer Prize winning author, John Patrick Shanley’s ('Doubt') breakthrough play, 'Danny and the Deep Blue Sea'.

The setting is a rundown bar in the Bronx, where two of society's rejects, Danny and Roberta, strike up a halting conversation over their beer. A raw, funny and poignant romantic tale, it is directed by Irish Times Theatre Awards nominee, Peter Reid and performed by Edwin Mullane and Clodagh Downing.

"…a funny, frightening, hypnotically fascinating evening of theatre…" - Drama-Logue.
