Seeds planted at Kilworth Celtic’s new home

Work is progressing very well at the Kilworth Celtic Sheila Flynn Park with grass already showing on pitch number one.

“We have been making great progress, considering it’s only three months or so since it all started,” chairman Gus Shanahan told The Avondhu this week.

“Pitch number one has been seeded and frass is already beginning to show. The second pitch has been levelled and de-stoning is ongoing. However, we need a few good dry days to complete this and get the seed in,” he said.

Southern Fencing moved in on Monday to start work on the perimeter fence which, in itself, is a big part of the works programme.

Gus reminds us that funds are still needed to keep the work progressing so any ideas, suggestions or contributions would be very welcome by the project committee.
