Loreto Secondary School in Fermoy are upping their security following a breach last week.

On Thursday last (27th), there was a security breach at the school which resulted in enhanced security being put in place at the main entrance.

Morning opening and evening lock-up procedures at the school are also under review, according to a letter issued to parents and guardians following the incident.

Parents and guardians were advised of new procedures and security measures put in place.

“We appreciate that this will cause some inconvenience, but we are satisfied this enhanced security will prevent intruders or people with no business in the school, from gaining access.

“We also look forward to a time when our uniform will be worn clearly again which will further enhance our ability to spot intruders,” the letter read.
