The official opening of the ‘Sailing Into Wellness’ new H.Q. on Pier Road, Kinsale, marks a transformative milestone in their social innovation journey.
As an awardee of the ‘New Solutions Social Innovation Fund’ (co-funded by the Department of Rural and Community Development and the Gaeltacht and the European Social Fund+) their therapeutic sailing programmes will be extended to many more community-based groups, locally and across Ireland, achieving deeper impact and better outcomes while enhancing social inclusion, sailing skills and wellbeing.
By collaborating with community-based organisations across Ireland, Sailing Into Wellness tailor programmes to benefit people with mental health challenges, intellectual disabilities, Autism Spectrum Disorders, those in addiction recovery, youth support services, the criminal justice system, post psychiatric care and other marginalised and underserved communities.
