Roy Keane ‘visibly moved’ at meeting Kilworth Keane

2-year-old Keane Byrne-O’Regan, from Kilworth, touched the heart of soccer star Roy Keane, who was visibly moved when he met him at his book signing in Eason’s book store in Cork.

A two year old Kilworth child who suffers from Downs Syndrome and who has successfully battled a serious heart condition, touched the heart of soccer star Roy Keane who was visibly moved when he met him at his book signing in Eason's book store in Cork.

Roy who was accompanied by ghost writer Roddy Doyle, gave a special warrior’s welcome to little Keane Byrne-O’Regan (2) who has recovered from open heart surgery in Our Lady’s Children’s Hospital in Crumlin. Keane was accompanied by his proud parents, Ronald and Gillian.

Ronald explained how the two yaer old came to be named after the former Manchester United and Ireland star.

"He was born with a hole in his heart and we said that if his heart was as strong as Roy’s but if maybe his temper wasn’t as bad, he’d be alright in life ...
