Michael Riordan and his staff pride themselves on looking after locals, however, Riordan's SuperValu also like to keep an eye on European matters and on Friday last the store hosted a very well organised Italian event. Like this family run store, the Italians know a thing or two about good food and customers were treated to some complimentary pizza and wine. This 2 hour promotion had a stellar cast that included a Roman empress, Italian footballer, pizza baker, face painter, magician and balloonist.

Customers were also serenaded by Laura Delussu and Emiliano Petronilli, who wouldn't have been out of place in Milan Opera House. The overall effect was entertaining, atmospheric and soothing. The event took quite a bit of planning and the attention to details was commendable.

In keeping with the time of year, Riordan's SuperValu are presently offering a 'back to school voucher scheme' which is getting a very favourable response from the public.
