Residents on Robert Street in Mitchelstown are calling for ramps or traffic calming measures to be put in place on the busy street, in light of the number of cars travelling up and down and the high speeds at which some of them travel.

The issue will be raised not once but twice, at next week’s Fermoy Electoral Area Committee meeting in Mitchelstown by both Frank O’Flynn and Kevin O’Keeffe.

Frank O’Flynn who is also chairman of the committee told The Avondhu that he has been approached by residents who feel that traffic and speeding are an issue and he said that ramps would help to calm the situation and make the road safer for them.
