In these fine summer evenings and even in the duller ones of late, the flowers and trees on Baldwin Street have been brightening up the streetscape there.

While we are often quick to criticise, praise doesn't come so often and this week, The Avondhu is commending the residents and business people on Baldwin Street for the effort they have made to lift their street and for the hard work and dedication they have put in to make it stand out.

Wouldn't it be great if every resident and business person could put in a bit of special effort outside their home or business and the town as a whole would appeal much more to visitors and locals alike, leave a lasting positive impression with the people who pass through.
