A group of fundraisers in Rathcormac have succeeded in raising substantial money for both Marymount Hospice and Cork Arc Cancer Support House.

€1,510 was raised at a very well supported 80s night in Ó Coileain's Bar, Rathcormac. Carol Holland, Robert Fitzgerald together with Margaret, Emma and Erin O'Keeffe helped organise the event. This cheque was presented to Arc House representative, Joanne McCarthy in Barry's Bar, Rathcormac on Friday night, November 28th.

At the same venue, another cheque (for €2,860) was presented to Doreen Walsh from Marymount - this money was generated thanks to a very successful coffee morning in Rathcormac Community Centre. Event organisers are very grateful to everyone who supplied cakes and confectionery, along with all those who turned up on the day. Doreen thanked all the ladies who helped make it happen.

Doreen also received a separate donation on the night of €265, which was raised by Cork Evening Echo mini marathon runners, Paula Moloney, Una Moloney and Teresa Geasley - again, a very welcome contribution which is going to an excellent cause.
