Those who were tuned in to Cork’s 96FM last Sunday would have heard Kilworth’s Jamie O’Hara make his radio debut when he broadcast hourly news reports from 11am to 1pm.
Getting your foot on the broadcasting ladder isn’t easy and this was a big break for the former UCC graduate who has recently completed a media and broadcasting course in Colaiste Stiofain Naofa.
Thanks to a cool temperament and clear diction, Jamie sailed through these bulletins and he’s booked in again on the same radio station for next Sunday morning.
From the townland of Ballyderowne a short distance outside Kilworth village, Jamie is well known locally.
He has worked hard to get this far and his many friends and acquaintances wish him well with what will hopefully be a successful and rewarding career in broadcasting.
