Rural publicans in North Cork have given a cautious welcome to the news that they can re-open their businesses on September 21st, but warn that they will still face challenges. 

Joe Aherne of Aherne's pub in Kilworth said he was "delighted" to reopen on the 21st, but that the new regulations on how to operate would "definitely take some getting used to."

"Turnovers will be down, with the requirements that customers be seated and not at the bar, but we'll have to give it a go," commented Mr Aherne, who has had the village pub for the past five years, said.
