Waterford City and County Council is hosting a public meeting on Thursday night, 20 February, to discuss the regeneration of Cappoquin town, and the potential associated projects and opportunities.

The council has called on everybody interested in the future development of the town to attend the meeting and voice their thoughts and ideas.

Recent developments in Cappoquin and funding opportunities are also slated for discussion at the public meeting.

In a press statement, the council noted that Ian Dempsey of Prescience, would facilitate the meeting, and went on to state that Mr Dempsey had previously undertaken a property study in Cappoquin and is therefore ‘quite familiar with the town, but is also familiar with the broader rural development environment in Ireland and with rural town regeneration best practice.’

The meeting will take place in Cappoquin Community Centre from 7.30pm, however council officials will be present in the venue from 6.30pm.

Concluding, the council remarked: “Here’s hoping that the community of Cappoquin sees this as an opportunity to influence the future direction of the town”.
