Public meeting called for future of SouthDoc

A public meeting to protest alleged planned cuts to the out-of-hours service of SouthDoc in Fermoy is to be held next Monday evening in the Fermoy Palace Theatre at 7pm.

Organised by Cork East TD Sean Sherlock, the intention of the meeting is to discuss the need to retain the services for the Fermoy and Mitchelstown area.

Currently, the SouthDoc clinic in Fermoy operates from 6pm in the evening until 8am the next morning, with 24-hour-care on the weekends. Speaking on Monday this week, Mr Sherlock said that he had raised his concerns with the CEO of the HSE, Bernard Gloster.
