Edward Cronin is the individual at the helm of Coláiste Fionnchua (formerly St. Fanahan’s College, Mitchelstown). Not a radical rebranding, but still significant, in that it reacquaints the famous warrior saint with his full Gaelic title.

It’s a move that would have found favour with the late Niall Ó Donnachada, along with local Gaeilgeoir and former teacher, Micheál MacFheoris (Michael Bermingham).

Under the stewardship of Edward Cronin and deputy principal, Aoife O’Keeffe, Coláiste Fionnchua’s star continues to rise and this was reflected in the huge crowd that turned out last Thursday evening.
