A problem with the drinking water supply to the villages of Rathcormac and Castlelyons on Wednesday has led to the service being curtailed.

It’s understood the problem has to do with the water becoming over-chlorinated. Tests were being conducted on Wednesday evening to determine the cause and extent of the problem. Restrictions were being put in place while the tests were being carried out and the problem sorted.

Local councillor, Noel McCarthy urged the council to deal with the problem as a matter of urgency and said he was hopeful it would be resolved as quickly as possible.
