The state of the entrance at Coolnanave Industrial Park in Mitchelstown was described as 'deplorable' by Cllr Kevin O'Keeffe, who argued that such an entrance at an industrial park would not encourage businesses to come to the town.

Cllr Frank O'Flynn added that the entrance had somewhat collapsed at the main gate. The point was raised at this week's Fermoy Electoral Area Committee meeting in Mitchelstown and engineer Brendan O'Gorman said that a specific department in charge of industrial estates would have to look into the state of the road.

From the main road, deep potholes can be seen and with the volume of traffic going in and out of the industrial estate, it is an issue which will only worsen as time goes on if it goes unattended.
