An Bord Pleanála has refused to green-light for construction of an 82 bed nursing home near Leamlara village, in East Cork.
The proposed development was to be located at Glengarriff More, just 7 kilometres outside Watergrasshill, and little more than one kilometre from Leamlara village.
Cork County Council had previously turned down the original application, lodged by Patrick Broderick, in February of this year.
