Rockspring Properties have obtained planning permission from Cork County Council for the re-development of the convent site in Mitchelstown.
The planning is subject to fifty-two conditions, which allows work to commence immediately on the restoration of the Convent and the construction of 9 new dwellings. The remainder may only be built when the new foul sewer is in place.
Jerry O’Sullivan from Rockspring Properties said he expects the construction works to create in excess of 20 jobs locally while also providing much needed new homes for the town.
