Final touches are being put in place by Anglesboro Community Council for their Gathering which takes place from 12th to 14th July.

The highlight of the weekend will be the re-enactment of 'The closing of the Creamery'. This will take place on the Sunday afternoon. The creamery in Anglesboro was a branch of Mitchelstown Creameries and it closed its doors in August 1981. This was an event which was recorded on video at the time by the new publican – the late Mick O’Connell and his friend from Glenville, Co Cork.

The committee is planning to repeat this event as well as a number of other events that revolved around the creamery which was the hub of the village in days gone by. Anglesboro was an extremely busy and industrious little place at the time.

If anyone has any items, photographs or memorabilia that would help to enhance the occasion, please contact any committee member. Your item will be taken and used and returned to you safely immediately after the event.

The picture attached was given to Mary T Lane by Kitty Lane of Ballybrien. It is a photograph of the Anglesboro creamery milk suppliers. They were treated to a tour of the factory by Mitchelstown Creameries followed by refreshments.
