Everyone needs a bit of care and support as they get older and as such, a pilot project aimed at offering such help and support is being trialled in Mitchelstown. 

Cork County Council and Enterprise Ireland launched a small business innovation research challenge inviting applicants to deliver innovative ways to help Cork elderly citizens maintain a good quality of life.

The winners of the SBIR were Independent Living Ireland, a social enterprise and Cork City Partnership Friendly Call Services.
