Penny Dinners benefits from North Cork foodstuff donation

The Cork Penny Dinners benefited from the substantial foodstuff collection undertaken in the villages of Glanworth, Ballyhooly and Castletownroche prior to Christmas.

Thanks to the great generosity of the people of Ballyhooly, Castletownroche and Glanworth, Cork Penny Dinners received a substantial donation of food items this Christmas.

It was the second year of the initiative, spearheaded by Ballyhooly residents John Ryan and Emer Buckley. As they delivered the last of the aid to the Penny Dinners premises, they extended their sincere thanks to James Beecher of Costcutters, Ballyhooly, to Ballyhooly NS, Denis Downey of Centra in Castletownroche and O’Flynn’s Stores in Glanworth, all of whom allowed their premises be used as collection points for foodstuffs and other items.

They reserved special thanks to Shane Ryan of Blenders Sauces Ltd. and Laura of Muller Yoghurt, for the van loads of their products delivered in the name of the local area drive.
