Paul Theroux the big attraction at Immrama 2013

Details of the festival were announced at last Thursday evening’s press launch in the magnificent surroundings of Lismore Castle.

Immrama, Lismore's festival of travel writing (now in its 11th year) has secured the services of renowned journalist and broadcaster, Paul Theroux for this year's event which takes place from Thursday, June 13 until Sunday, June 16.

Other notable attractions include: Kieran Heffernan, Theresa McDonnell-Fristrom, Monica Corish, Hilary Linstead, Elizabeth Davies and John Dwyer who will present a workshop on digital printing.

Details were announced at last Thursday evening's press launch in the magnificent surroundings of Lismore Castle. MC for the occasion was Edward Lynch.

Special guests included: Peter Dowd (Immrama President), Cllr Julie Landers (Mayor of Lismore), Cllr John Spratt (Deputy Mayor of County Waterford), Brian White (Deputy County Manager) and host Lord Burlington - the other speakers were Jan Rotte and Immrama chairman, Bernard Leddy.

Mr Rotte outlined the programme of events which include a family fun day in Lismore's Millennium Park, Lismore Farmers' Market (both on the Sunday) along with a literary breakfast with Charlie Connolly. Other contributors to the festival are: Simon Winchester OBE, John O'Keeffe, Rosamund Burton, Donald Brady and Dr Rachel Finnegan.
