Participation encouraging

I was very encouraged to see the teachers took the time out to participate in this course, as I feel it will benefit them greatly in regards to the understanding of our children’s needs with speech and language difficulties.

Dear Editor,

If you would be so kind to let me express my gratitude and delight to the teachers in the Mitchelstown Primary Schools who recently participated in speech and language training in association with senior speech and language therapist, Joan McDermot from Mitchelstown primary care team Livinghealth Clinic, Mitchelstown and Sinead O’Riordan, senior speech and language therapist, based with the HSE Early Intervention Team at Market Square, Mallow.

I was very encouraged to see the teachers took the time out to participate in this course, as I feel it will benefit them greatly in regards to the understanding of our children’s needs with speech and language difficulties.

I would also hope, while the opportunity is available, that the teachers in Fermoy and surrounding villages would avail of this training as there is a lot of children attending these schools with speech and language difficulties, as I deal with parents’ enquiries in regards to services available for children with speech and language difficulties though our group, FACE (Fermoy Action Children’s Education), for children with specific learning difficulties.

For more information, contact facefermoy@gmail.com, phone 087 22784l59 or visit our website www.facefermoy.com. I would also like to take this opportunity to thank and compliment the H.S.E for making this training available.

Thanking you once again.

Regards,

Tom Flynn,
