Being in the priesthood isn’t a popularity contest, however, some priests enjoy a special relationship with their parishioners.
One such cleric is Fr. Aquin Casey, a native of Inniscarra who has resided in Fermoy for the last 12 years.
Following on from last Friday night’s Mass, celebrating his silver jubilee as a priest, it was no surprise that those in attendance accepted an invitation from Fr. Aquin to join him and his family for a social function in Corrin Event Centre.
Reflecting the personality of the individual concerned, formalities were kept to a minimum as townspeople availed of this opportunity to acknowledge the contribution of Fr. Aquin to parish life in Fermoy.
Approachable, sincere and conscientious in his priestly duties, the respect he is held in was clear for all to see.
