All’s set for the opening night of ‘Thy Will Be Done’ – Michael Carey’s hilarious comedy being staged by The Palace Players in The Village Arts Centre, Kilworth over this weekend. Proceeds from the opening night (this Thursday) will go to Marymount Hospice in recognition of all the great work they continue to do.

The play runs until Sunday night of this week and there will be three more performances of it next weekend (22nd to 24th) but due to other commitments by the cast, that will be the final run.

The play centres around the life of Jack Griffin who lives in what was once the cowshed of the 170 acre family farm which was willed over to his younger brother, Pete – enough surely to make any man bitter. Jack has held the grudge for 40 years, often relating his intentions to kill or maim his brother. His nephew Martin is a regular caller since he came to live from the US where he was born after his mother left Pete all those years ago. Add in Bridie the home help and you are in for one great night’s entertainment.

Tickets on sale at The Avondhu office, Fermoy (025-32227); Cotter’s Bar, Kilworth (27109), Hyland’s Bookshop, Mitchelstown (24528) or from 087-6492514.
