The Palace Players are well in to rehearsals with ‘Thy Will Be Done’ – a delightful comedy from the pen of Michael Carey.

Set in an Ireland of 30-years-ago, the play tells the story of two brothers who haven’t spoken to each other for forty years. It is a tale of a failed marriage of one of the brothers and his wife’s departure to New York where she gives birth to their son.

The other brother now spends his days fishing and is cared for by a local woman who is a busybody but has his best interests at heart and does his housekeeping. In cahrge of direction, Liam Howard has called on the talents of John O’Doherty to take on the hugely demanding role of Jack Griffin. he will be partnered by Ber O’Sullivan as Bridie, the home help. The group welcomes Paul Finn from Mitchelstown who plays the emigrant nephew Martin while John Murphy plays the troubled and aggressive Peter.

Hilariously funny throughout, ‘The Will Be Done’ also has a dark side that may well bring a lump to your throat and a tear to your eye – the perfect recipe for a great night out. The play will open on Friday, Nov 15 November. Further details later!
