On Friday, May 11, pupils, teaching staff and parents connected with Gaelscoil de hÍde in Fermoy will celebrate the official opening of their new primary school.
While pupils moved into the new building in February of 2017 the official opening will allow dignitaries to join in those celebrations and acknowledge the massive effort and commitment of staff and parents in ensuring the school was delivered.
After a high-profile campaign run by the Gaelscoil de hÍde New School Action Group, and assisted by the likes of event planner extraordinaire Peter Kelly (AKA Franc), the Department of Education expediated the project to meet a growing need.
