On Monday morning the Fermoy Forum put out a call for volunteers to come forward and help people who might need a hand in the Fermoy area.
The call was for all sorts of things; support with shopping, pharmacy runs, dog walking – things that almost go unnoticed in the midst of day-to-day living, but which have taken on new significance in a world of COVID-19.
Gráinne O’Connor, Creative Project Manager of Crayon Creative, and member of the Fermoy Forum, told The Avondhu that the decision to drive forward with a volunteer programme came about after a remote meeting of the Forum’s Executive.
