A leading global ICT solutions provider has announced the opening of a new research and development centre in two centres, Cork and Dublin creating jobs for over 50 highly-skilled research professionals.

Huawei – a leading global information and communications technology (ICT) solutions provider, has announced the opening of a new research and development centre spread across two sites in Cork and Dublin, creating jobs for over 50 highly-skilled research professionals. 

The initiative is supported by the Department of Jobs, Enterprise and Innovation through IDA Ireland.

Managing sirector of Huawei Ireland, Mr Derek Ding said the new centre is ‘a significant commitment to Ireland over the next three years with many more highly-skilled jobs being created’.  

Huawei is a leading global ICT solutions provider and the investment will strengthen the company’s R&D capabilities, augmenting over 70,000 employees currently engaged in R&D worldwide.

Huawei first established its Irish sales office in 2004 and currently employs over 140,000 people globally, including 40 people presently in Ireland.
