At the end of this month, Veronika Kadac will be taking over from Shona Hanrahan as the gym manager in Livinghealth Gym in Mitchelstown.

Originally from Lithuania but living in Ireland for almost eight years, Veronika is passionate about health, fitness and training.

She has more than five years experience in personal training, weight loss, general fitness and health, post and pre-natal fitness, muscular disbalance and strength, lifestyle correction and sport specific training.

Certified under Fitness Professionals Ireland, Veronika is also qualified as an instructor and trainer in TRX, Zumba, spinning and pilates.

Veronika will be continuing with the Zumba classes, but she is also planning to expand the class schedule in the coming months and one of the classes she hopes to introduce over the next month is kettle bells. Clients and those interested can call into the Livinghealth Gym or visit the Livinghealth Gym Facebook page to find out more.

Speaking to The Avondhu, Veronika said that she has always been interested in sports and fitness and when she was younger she was a swimmer, but was also interested in dancing and aerobics. From a young age, her teacher in school even had her at the top of the class instructing aerobics, so she feels that the profession found her in some ways.

The name of the Livinghealth Gym is something which appealed to Veronika, as everyone wants to live healthy and she feels that the gym, with it's affiliation to the primary care centre, helps people to achieve what they want from life with a good balance between health, diet and exercise.

"The most important thing is being healthy and once you are healthy, everything else will follow. That is the base for anything else and exercise is a big part of being healthy," Veronika said.

She added that people are much more health conscious now and are much more active than they might have been years ago, which means that many people across different ages and fitness abilities are going to gyms regularly now in an effort to keep themselves fit and healthy.
