Deise Link has begun a new service linking Dungarvan, Lismore, Castlelyons and Fermoy. The six-month pilot service, which began on Monday, will allow Deise Link time to establish the demand for a bus service linking Dungarvan with Fermoy, taking in Lismore, Tallow, Conna and Castlelyons.
It has been established with the support of Lismore Town Council and Deise Link colleagues in Avondhu Blackwater Partnership. Deise Link had lobbied for some time for a service on the route, saying it represents an obvious deficit in national public transport services.
The service will operate twice daily, three days a week, on Mondays, Wednesdays and Saturdays. The Monday and Wednesday services are new additions to the Deise Link network, while Saturday is an extension of a current service.
As well as allowing the communities along the way to link with Bus Eireann’s national network, the service will provide added access for tourists to visit the West Waterford and East Cork areas.
TIMETABLE CHANGES
Existing Deise Link customers should note that there will be some changes to the current Saturday timetable. Outline details of the schedule can be seen in the advertisement elsewhere in this newspaper. Full details will be distributed in the area over the coming weeks and can also be had by contacting Deise Link on 058 20845 or by checking their website www.deiselink.ie
