Toastmasters in Kilbehenny
Television personality, best selling author and celebrity chef, Neven Maguire is the big name attraction at a forthcoming cookery demonstration in Charleville Park Hotel.
This elaborate event is an important fundraiser for Scoil Pol in Kilfinane and tickets (€20) are available from the school 063-91197 or the hotel 063-33700.
The demonstration incorporates a cheese and wine reception as well as a display of artisan food products. It promises to be a great night out and comes highly recommended by the organising committee.
NEW CLASSROOM SANCTIONED
Staff, pupils and parents have all welcomed the recent sanctioning of a new wood and construction studies room in Scoil Pol, this will complement existing facilities and is a significant development for the school in light of renewed interest in careers associated with the construction and engineering sector. The fact that the entire project will be financed by the Department of Education and Science is another major plus.
NEW SCHOOL BUS SECURED
With enrolment increasing, it has been necessary to acquire a new bus which along with doing school runs will transport students to a range of educational and sporting activities.
IRISH LANGUAGE COURSE IN JULY
Cursa de Paor, in association with the Power family is an initiative aimed at encouraging the use of spoken Irish. The course runs from 6th to 17th July and is open to 3rd, 4th, 5th & 6th class pupils, along with 1st and 2nd years. Application forms and course details available from www.scoilpol.ie
