It will be tea time in the NCBI charity shop in the Square, Mitchelstown, as they are set to hold a tea and scone day on Thursday, September 19 to raise funds for the National Council for the Blind of Ireland.
Over the past number of weeks, donations of tea and china sets have been 'pouring' into the shop in anticipation of this day and the manager, Isobel Reader is now selling raffle tickets for a beautiful china sets which will be raffled off on the day.
She thanked everyone for their donations of tea and china sets to tie in with the theme of the tea and scone day. Anyone who can to bring along cakes, scones, bread, jam or anything homemade to add to the day, these can be dropped into the store the day before on Wednesday, September 18 or on the day itself.
All of the sets, both complete and mismatched, will be on sale on the day and all of the money raised will go towards NCBI, the National Council for the Blind of Ireland, who provide help and support to people with visual impairments or eyesight issues. NCBI help people to live independently in the community, they help them to use technology to communicate and in other ways to make their lives easier and more fulfillled.
All support of the day would be greatly appreciated.
