A hair-raising experience is planned at the end of the month in Ballynoe. The culmination of the month-long Movember initiative in the area, a shave off will take place on Friday, November 29th in McAuliffe’s Bar at 9pm.

Three local businesses came together to participate in the initiative to raise awareness of men’s health and funds for related charities. Tom O’Donnell, Tom Jones, Brian Maguire and Barrie Regan of T&A Plant Hire; Ballynoe Agri’s Eddie O’Keefe and Noel Kielthy of Auto Door Engineering Ltd., along with locals James Fitzgerald and Denis Walsh are all taking part, growing a moustache or beard for the 30 days of the month.

On the night the lads will opt to come clean or, if they’ve decided they like their facial hair and want to keep it after all, can be encouraged to do so with a few extra euro in the fundraising kitty. It’ll all be in good fun and everyone is invited along to enjoy the evening.

Donations are still being taken. They can be made directly to any of the men for this worthwhile cause.
