SEAT was the most popular car brand in County Monaghan in 2020. In what was a difficult year with Covid-19 restrictions, SEAT dealership, Albert Berry Motors, in Co Monaghan recorded a 23.3% increase in sales compared to the previous year, in a total Irish car market that was 24.6% lower than in 2019.

There were two SEAT models in the Top 10 best-selling cars in County Monaghan, the Ateca in 3rd place and the Arona in 7th place. The Ibiza in 17th place and the Leon in 18th place meant that four models were in the Top 20 best-selling cars in the county in 2020.

The SEAT brand continued to blossom in 2020, on foot of the continued success of its SUV range and the introduction of a brand new Leon, which has been receiving hugely positive reviews from motoring press and was recently awarded the ‘AUTOBEST 2021’ – the European accolade for the ‘Best Buy Car of Europe 2021’ by a panel of 31 automotive journalists. SEAT Ireland reached a record market share nationally of 3.9% in 2020.

David Berry, Dealer Principal for Albert Berry Motors commented: “We are delighted to have such a great result in 2020 with the SEAT brand, despite the obvious challenges we all faced in 2020.

“I would like to thank my staff for all of their efforts during a challenging year and for the ongoing support we receive from SEAT Ireland.”

Niall Phillips, Brand Director at SEAT Ireland commented: “Albert Berry Motors have shown just what is possible with the SEAT brand and even with a tough market condition their hard work has paid off and now they have helped the brand to a number one position in their county.

“I’d like to congratulate David Berry and his team for this achievement and hopefully other counties can follow in Monaghan’s footsteps.”
