With Mitchelstown preparing to welcome an influx of festivalgoers once again with the return of the Indiependence Music Festival to the town, excitement is building as residents are being encouraged to dress up the town, placing its best foot forward for arriving visitors.

INDIE22 is expected to draw a 12,000 capacity daily over the duration of the 3-day festival, a timely boost for local business, many of which are still recovering from the effects of enforced closure and limited trading through the pandemic.

However, it’s now time to party and the over 18s event will bring many top acts to play on the old Dublin Road site over the August bank holiday weekend.

Festival goers should note that the bus drop off is located at The Firgrove Hotel, with pedestrian access on the Dublin side of the event site. While car parking and car drop off is located 500m further out the Dublin Road from the site. Note also, there is no access via the adjacent business park.

Following what organiser Shane Dunne termed a ‘phenomenally difficult summer’, allied to an ongoing recovery in the entertainment industry, the local crew have however once again worked their magic and the local town and surrounds will benefit from their efforts in 2022.

Hats off lads and time to rock Mitchelstown once again!
