The Mitchelstown Lions Club annual food appeal was given a welcome boost this week, as Reidy's SuperValu very generously gave a €200 donation, on top of the very successful collection which had already been held in store.

Avondhu reporter Sandra Quinn undertook a Switch and Save challenge in store in Reidy's in recent weeks and Reidy's kindly made a donation to the Lions Club food appeal as a result of this.

President of the Lions Club, Therese Horgan, said that she wanted to thank Alan Reidy and Jason O'Connor most sincerely from all at the Lions Club and on behalf of those who will benefit from the food vouchers. "It's a very generous contribution and it will make a huge difference to people and it will all be kept in the local area," she said.

Alan Reidy added that they were delighted to be supporting the Lions Club in this way.
