Mitchelstown golfer Valerie Clancy, has obtained a golf scholarship to Indiana University in the United States.
After completing her leaving cert in 2019, Valerie will pursue an academic degree at the University while playing college golf with the Indiana University Ladies team who compete in the NCAA Division One championship.
When interviewed by The Avondhu in 2016, the young golfing star had set her sights on a glittering professional career in the United States.
After travelling to Bloomington, Indiana last week to meet officials from the university, she took her first steps towards achieving that goal by signing a National Letter of Intent for Indiana University.
