Last week’s snow closed roads, cancelled flights and forced hundreds of schools to close across the country.

Trains and bus services had to be cancelled too as the ‘Beast from the East’ and Storm Emma led the authorities to plead with people not to leave home unless absolutely necessary.

But not everyone had that luxury. Despite the difficult conditions, some people battled through the snow to deliver food and medical supplies.

In Mitchelstown it was business as usual at Chamberlain’s bakery.

Seanie and his team ensured that their beautiful bread was delivered and ready for their valued customers.

”We made almost double the amount we’d usually make and thank God it all sold,” said Seanie.
