A call has gone out this week for Mitchelstown residents to get involved in this year’s area enhancement awards with judging commencing shortly. AROMA, who have launched the initiative, say this is an opportunity for everyone to get involved and to take pride in the area in which they live.

Each round is judged under different categories including litter control, planting, painting, colour, weed control and overall appearance. Every little piece of litter or weed popping up through a path will be noted for the points, so it is important to make each area as pristine and tidy as possible.

The enhancement awards help to improve the overall image of the town and also have a positive effect on the Tidy Town’s competition, when each area is looking its best.

AROMA are urging all residents to get involved and participate and they hope that with everyone’s help, they can make Mitchelstown a more attractive and better place.

Judges from Cork County Council will commence judging shortly and anyone wishing to enter can contact a member of AROMA on 087-6364845.
