There is rampant speculation across Mitchelstown this week, as rumours are being whispered in the air about the popular Indiependence festival moving out of the town.

Rumours of a similar nature were circulated earlier this year as well, when the festival, far from moving out of the town, instead increased its daily capacity by 3,000 to 8,000 and hosted Kodaline – one of the biggest bands across the globe at the moment.

This week, there was uncertainty locally about the future of the festival in the town, as some locals had speculated both online through social media and through various social groups that the festival would be moving to either Mallow or Limerick.
