The €16,000 raised for Mitchelstown COPE over the past year is a testament to the generosity of the people of Mitchelstown and surrounding areas.

At the AGM on Thursday last, Tom Condon presented the cheque to the head of fundraising, John Clifford from COPE Cork, and he said that the amount was up €2,000 on last year's fundraising figure. All of the money will be kept locally to support the service that COPE offer to the people of Mitchelstown and surrounding areas.

The funds were raised through a combination of fundraisers including The Flowers of Hope, church gate collections, a Christmas draw, marathon donations and a number of private donations.
