Mitchelstown CBS Primary Parent’s Council draw well supported

The draw for CBS Primary in Mitchelstown, run by the parents’ council, was this year very well supported, raising more than €3,000 for the school.

The draw for CBS Primary in Mitchelstown, run by the parents' council, was this year very well supported, raising more than €3,000 for the school.

The draw took place on Wednesday in the school and the following were the winners: Emmet McMahon, 9 King Square won €300, Garvin Virgo, 26 Kingvara Close, Ballyvolane won €200 and Palma Baker, 6 The Cottages, Clonmel Road won  €100.

Students who sold the most tickets were also rewarded with selection boxes, while every student got a little goody bag to bring home, as the school's way of thanking them for all of their efforts. Mr Weir's sixth class also won the prize for the top ticket selling class, winning a class party for all and selection boxes for every student in the class. Congratulations to John Ahearn, Jamie Greene, James Crotty and Darragh O'Callaghan who sold the most tickets.

A presentation was also made from the Parents' council to caretaker Brendan Kinsella and secretary Kathleen Cott, while Patricia Dwane wasn't there on the day.
