The Mercedes-Benz commercial vehicle division in Ireland has extended its line-up of eVan dealers, bringing to five, the number of main dealers from its wider dealer network now exhibiting the all-electric eSprinter and eVito vans in their showrooms.
In addition to Cork Truck Services in Blarney Business Park and MUTEC on Dublin’s Naas Road, both eVan dealers since 2019, the three new outlets are Gilmores Kingscourt in Co. Cavan, Surehaul Limited in Clonmel and M50 Truck & Van Centre in North Dublin.
Welcoming them to the eVan network, Fergus Conheady, Mercedes-Benz commercial vehicles sales manager, says: “The appointment of a geographically selected body of dealers, recruited from our wider commercial vehicle dealer network, means we can now provide our customers with maximum access to our all-electric van models.
“Both units are proving to have particular appeal to those whose operations involve extensive movements within city and built-up environments and whose preference is for vans that satisfy the concerns of a more eco-aware society.”
Modelled on the diesel-powered Sprinter, popular amongst food and pharma producers, fleet operators, tradespeople, maintenance and parcel delivery specialists, the new eSprinter has an unrestricted cargo volume of 11 cubic metres.
Other key stats include a useable battery capacity of 35 kWh (installed: 41 kWh) with peak output of 85 kW, 300 Nm torque, a 120kms range, and a top speed up to 120 km/h.
Similar stats apply in the case of the mid-range eVito which has a cargo volume of up to 6m3, a range of around 150 kms and a maximum speed of up to 120km/h.
Inclusive of a €200 VRT charge and exclusive of VAT, the larger eSprinter comes on the market from a competitive €52,000, followed by the mid-size eVito priced from €41,485.
Both the registered electric vans qualify for a grant of €3,800.
