Member engagement meetings held by Dairygold

A scene from one of the recent Member Engagement meetings.

Approximately 650 Dairygold members attended a range of Member Engagement meetings hosted by the society across its catchment area over the past fortnight, Monday, 24th March to Thursday, 3rd April.

Eight meetings were held in Mitchelstown, Mallow, Adare, Macroom, Garryvoe, Ballincollig, Cahir and Carrigaline, organised in response to feedback from Dairygold’s Milk Supplier Census carried out in late 2024 and the follow up focus groups, both of which highlighted a desire for further member engagement.

The meetings differed to the traditional Dairygold Area Information Meetings, in that members were invited to bring along their family members to give them an opportunity to engage with their local Board and Committee Representatives and Dairygold teams, who provide support for members’ farming enterprises. This included personnel from Agri Business, Agri Retail, Milk Advisory, Farm Sustainability, Company Secretarial and Munster Bovine teams.

Following this informal one to one engagement, management then presented a business update. All feedback received at the meetings will be progressed through the Dairygold Representative Structure, ensuring that the member voice is heard.

Speaking about the meetings, Dairygold chairperson, Patrick Clancy said: “As a member owned co-operative, Dairygold is committed to doing everything it can to ensure that there is an effective two-way flow of communication between the society and its members. Based on member feedback received, the meetings were informative and appreciated.”

“These meetings have given us all a sense of renewed engagement and support within our member community, and I want to thank all members who took the time to attend and engage with us. I also want to thank all Dairygold representatives and member facing teams, for their collective efforts ensuring that these Member Engagement meetings were successful”.
