To add a touch of class to the Hallowe'en celebrations, the Transition Years from Presentation Secondary School in Mitchelstown organised a masquerade ball in the school on October 25 and it was a great success.

It was the first time the students had organised anything like this, so while some it was very stressful, all of their hard work paid off in the end.

To ensure that the night ran smoothly, four different committees were set up to look after decorations, communications, finance and promotions.

To give the night a touch of professional finesse, students Tyanah O'Rourke and Bridget Myers designed a very classy looking backdrop, while teacher Ms Healy took photographs on the night.

Jamie King and Eddie Barrett were voted and crowned as the Queen and King on the night and overall the night was deemed to be a major success.

The students would like to thank everyone who helped out in any way and they wish to thank the Principal, Ms Kirke for allowing them to use the school hall, Flowers By Una and Better Vending who sponsored the food and drinks on the night and Justin Finn who was the DJ on the night.
