Couch To 5K participant, Mary Leddy from Araglin, all set for her Dublin run.

Araglin lady, Mary Leddy is busy preparing for her forthcoming 5k run through the Phoenix Park.

Mary was among those chosen to partake in the 'Couch To 5k' - an initiative being promoted by RTE's 'Today Show' which is presented by Daithi O Sé and Maura Derrane. The challenge is to get people with no previous experience of athletics to prepare themselves for a road run.

The countdown therefore is on to Saturday, 14th December when Mary will take her place on the start line. A mother of two who is an active member of Araglin Carnival committee, she has been in training for several weeks and is determined to give a good account of herself. She is also using the event to promote her chosen charity, Aware (a suicide support group).

According to Mary, who is married to Aidan, the entire experience has been very worthwhile and she's looking forward to visiting the capital. Mary's wide circle of friends in Araglin and beyond have been extremely supportive and wish her the very best on December 14th.
