Marilyn McDonagh wants people to put their best foot forward at all times. Marilyn is a qualified podiatrist, working in the assessment, prevention and treatment of disorders and diseases of the feet. With 52 bones, 66 joints, over 38 muscles and more than 200 ligaments which help us take the million steps we do each year, it’s no wonder problems arise from time to time.

EXPERIENCED CARE

After graduating with a BSc in Podiatry, Marilyn first worked in the UK with the NHS in biomechanical and high risk foot clinics. She went on to work for a private clinic in Galway, treating patients with diabetic and biomechanical foot conditions as well as a range of other foot problems, before going to work with Touchstone at Blackrock Hall primary care centre in Blackrock, Cork. With further qualifications in health science and physiology, as well as acupuncture of the foot, Marilyn has the skills and experience to put her to the fore in foot care.

From Grange in Fermoy, where her father Stephen is a well known farrier, Marilyn now plans to expand on the service she provides by offering home visits. “I’m delighted to be in a position to offer home visits, I think it will be of enormous benefit to those who might find it difficult to travel for consultations and treatment . Instead they can be seen in the comfort and privacy of their own homes,” she points out. Marilyn can be contacted on 086 4032983.
