In a joint operation between the Garda National Drugs Unit and the Revenue Customs Service, a 54-year-old man was arrested at 4.30pm on Monday, July 8 at Castlemccarthy, Churchtown near Buttevent having found to be in possession of cocaine with an estimated street value of €17,500.

The man was detained at Mallow Garda Station under Section 4 of the Criminal Justice Act, but was later released and a file is being prepared for the Director of Public Prosecutions.
